About the perfume / My Review:

A Sophisticated Twist on a Modern Icon

If you think you’ve already figured out La Vie Est Belle, think again.
In the endless sea of flankers Lancôme has released over the years, La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu stands out as a refined, velvety, and surprisingly elevated take on a best-selling classic.

Why Another La Vie Est Belle?

Let’s be honest — La Vie Est Belle is everywhere. It’s the kind of fragrance you’ll find in your coworker’s bag, on your mom’s vanity, and maybe even clinging to a few overly sweet dreams from 2014.
But here’s the thing: Iris Absolu actually makes sense. It doesn’t just remix the original — it deepens it, matures it, and dresses it in something silkier and more grown-up.

Iris, Fruity Freshness, and a Comforting Gourmand Base

Iris Takes the Spotlight

The opening is juicy and inviting — fig and blackcurrant provide a fruity brightness that quickly gives way to the star of the show: iris.
And this iris isn’t shy. It’s creamy, soft, and slightly buttery, adding texture and depth without veering into powdery or vintage territory. Think of it as cashmere for the skin — plush, warm, and modern.

A Gourmand Heart, But With Restraint

The base will feel familiar to La Vie Est Belle lovers: vanilla, tonka bean, and a touch of patchouli. But in Iris Absolu, these notes are handled with more finesse.
It’s still sweet, yes — but there’s a softness and elegance that tones down the sugar rush. Picture a Parisian bakery at golden hour, not a birthday party drenched in frosting.

Performance: Longevity and Sillage

Longevity is impressive — expect this to linger for 8+ hours on skin, even longer on clothes.
Sillage starts off strong, with a radiant trail that eventually settles into a more intimate, cozy aura. It’s a scent that announces itself politely… then stays for dinner.

Who Is This For?

Fans of the original La Vie Est Belle looking for something more mature and elegant.

Iris lovers who want a rich, modern take on the note, without diving into niche territory.

Anyone who enjoys sweet scents but craves a more refined, luxurious feel.

A Flanker Worth Sniffing

Let’s be real — I wasn’t expecting to like this. But La Vie Est Belle Iris Absolu surprised me.
It’s still comforting and feminine, but with a touch of couture. The iris brings a plushness that makes this more than just another flanker — it feels like a reimagined classic.

And yes… I’ve got a 100 ml bottle in my collection.
Because apparently, I have no self-control when iris and fig get involved.
